Elizabeth Salin, MFT is a Marriage Family Therapist in San Rafael specializing in helping children and their parents during the separation/divorce process. Strongly influenced by attachment theory, child development, resilience research and mindfulness practices, she works with each family to support the child's connection to their parents, strengthen the support system for the parents as they learn to parent in a different context. Liz has learned that helping spouses focus on their strengths and hopes for themselves and their children creates the best outcomes for not only the divorce settlement but the future restructured family.
Licensed in 1976, she has many years of experience with children in play therapy, parent/co-parent counseling and individual therapy. She has taught Human Development to graduate students and teachers at Dominican University, has been a Senior Clinical staff member at the Center for Families in Transition, and created and taught the Pre Mediation Orientation for parents in the Sonoma County Courts for many years.
